Forget your average running marathon – this is way more tough! Actually, it was a heavenly occasion in many ways. There’s something really special about people comming together for the same reason/ cause; people tend to talk to each other without having a reason – everybody becomes friends for a day. The location was a church in Asfordby, the cause was to raise funds for the replacement lead (that was stolen off the roof of the church) & the duration was about 7hours (personally I could’ve done it for 24 hours) & then I started to realise that churches are very cold venues. I produced two immaginative/ made- up peices throughout the day.

This image was generated after looking at alot of immaginary -based illuatration. I had a lot of fun creating this; I recently had a conversation with a female friend who suggested using blocks of colour & then drawing into it/ over it! This is the outcome…

Here are a few hand-painted ‘Thankyou’ cards. They were designed by me, for my sister & her partner (& their brand new baby) to send out to friends & family to thank them for their good wishes.

You can’t beat poly-board. It gives you an excellent effect without hours of work. It’s also ideal to use in schools because children don’t seem to get too fustrated that they ‘can’t draw’. All you need to do, is create a design that you’re happy with & start printing! The poly-board can be washed & so you’re able to print with lots of different colours & you can keep the print forever to use over & over again.

It has been a while since I have posted a blog entry! Being a teacher within a secondary school can be very full on and so with all my commitments & trying to complete briefs, it can sometimes be very time consuming. However, I am still finding pockets of time to work on new pieces! The image below is an Eastern- inspired building. I have tried to include as much colour as possible. Recently, I have been admiring work by a water-colour artist J.Wheatley who creates beautiful, large scale water-colour paintings of buildings & landscapes; her work is incredible. So, taking inspiration from her work & combining that with my imagination & a new set of paints, I have produced this piece… enjoy.

Here,  i am catagorising colour! The far right hand column features variations of the primary colours, the middle row are all secondary colours & finally the left hand side features (merky) tertiary colours. I guess that this image shows a type of colour catagorising; rather like how each army would catagorise their tanks & artillery.

For accuracy & detail, I have copied images of various army tanks from this old tank magazine which I found in a charity shop for 25 pence!!
